FAQ

A large majority are printed in Polylactic Acid (PLA) which is the 3D hobby standard. You will also see some prints around my site labeled as “PETG” or Polyethylene terephthalate glycol. All print materials are safe and non-toxic and made of biodegradable plastics.

3D printers are known for being slow. Recent advancements in printing have made it much faster, but it is still a considerable amount of time. Something small like the baby animals takes 1-2 hours depending on complexity. Something larger, like a t-rex, takes much longer at about 8 hours.

I take into account materials, print times and other various business things like electricity and supplies. Prices take into account the fact that everyone deserves to own a 3D print and I want that spread with the world.

As many people did, I picked it up as a COVID hobby when we were all in lockdown. I then started a business a few months later and never looked back. 4 years later, I own 4 printers and have almost 8,000 print hours.

I own 4 but only really use 3. I have:

  • 2 Prusa MK3S+ (one with a MMU3)
  • A Prusa XL 5 tool

I recommend looking into an inexpensive ‘starter’ 3D printer.
